God gives us men! A time like this demands strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who posses opinions and a will;
Men who have honour, men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue and damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
Tall men, sun-crowned who live above the fog in public duty and in private thinking;
For while the rabble, with their little deeds,
Mingle in selfish strife, lo! freedom weeps,
wrong rules the land and waiting justice sleeps...''
That is the kind of man that can save our land! We have been through hell in NIGERIA; to add pepper to our injury is the recent killing of our compatriots in potiskum - about 50 innocent students - more painfully, the president does not consider it expedient to send a condolence message to those affected! I ask, if just insurgency group can hold a country so hard in the jugular, what will a real time war do to her? annihilate her?!
Leaders give direction to a country but when leadership becomes clueless, grossly insensitive and inhuman, the nation experience this kind of horrible happenings - alas, the citizens bear the lost and the brunt.
The hope for Nigeria is dimming!
The only hope left is our vote and we must not fail in casting it for a better, smarter alternative
