So, we will live. We will live
until we live no more.
But we wouldn’t know when the
last breathe will be just so we get prepared. We would be carried away by the
“struggle” and “Desire”. The struggle to have and the desire to oppress the
“have not” or “have less”…!
No doubt live is intangible
everywhere, however, life is even worse in Africa. Due simply to how we have
chosen to live our lives. We have grown to become deeply apathetic and inhuman
in our race to attainment – attainment that wouldn’t be taken along to the
other side of existence. While majority of people in the western world strife
to success just so they aid humanity, Africans and her leaders aspire and steal
commonwealth for the sole purpose of oppressing their fellow African.
In America, Warren Buffet, one of
topmost rich man in the world has countable cars but in Africa, a common Local
Government Chairman wouldn’t know how many cars he owns or the number of houses
he has bought yet only about 1 in 10 Americans lives under the breadline while
6 in 10 Africans lives below average. In sane countries, the society rises in
support of themselves as played out in America when her whole donated
generously in support of Texas flood victims. Similar occurrence happened in
Benue, Nigeria; the story out of it further dragged humanity in the mud. Africa
seems to be losing our entire sense of feelings to the rat race. We kill fellow
man just so we want to be well off. We steal ourselves blind and leave our
people to wither off in alarming poverty. This has to stop!!!
Alas, humans are like a rolling
stone that roll on and on but will certainly stop. Death is in living; the only
difference between the living and the dead is that GRACE, the grace of time
with which no one has control over, the grace of time that can cease just as
you read this piece, the grace of time that does not respect money or affluence.
The grace that no one merits but God gives for FREE.
Let it be in our consciousness that
no matter how rich or great we are today, we need to be humbled by the fact
that a lot of people have been there and a lot will still be there after we exhaust
our “grace of time”. Thus, we should all live our lives for the benefit of
mankind. The impact we make in peoples live is actually all that matters and
not the crazy acquisitions we garnered. Live and let live, touch lives with
what you have, count your blessings and make someone happy within your means. No
one has promise of a moment more. No one dies and gets buried with all her
achievement, the only value that follows the dead is the legacy, the impact
made.
Live more responsibly, death has
no date for no one!
